Yo, Steve...You're pretty hip!

Yeah...Steve Allen was a multi-talented cat! Composer, Pianist, Writer, Comedian, Talk Show host, (the best), Political Activist, (although a Liberal). No, I don't remember that Kerouac episode, but I was hangin' with Jack in 1957-58, and we scored some bad stash outside St. Louis..I'll never forget it! We got bailed by Corso, or Ferlinghetti, I can't remember which...then in K.C. we partied with Shel Silverstein (Playboy writer, composed "Boy Named Sue") He had a folk chick with him named Judy Henske...remember her? We weren't exactly Dharma Bums, but we came pretty close! I was only 22 then!

These were the "Subterranean" days!

Cool It...
